Director of seed and organic certification Gopalakrishnan inspected the seed processing unit in Tiruvarur on Wednesday. He saw the processed seed lots, tagged seeds and field run seeds. He instructed the officials to complete the processing work in time, as the Mettur dam is nearing its full storage and is likely to be opened for Kuruvai cultivation on June 12. He directed the officials to move the tagged seeds to agricultural extension centre to make the seeds available to the farmers. Joint Director of Agriculture, Tiruvarur, R. Ragunathan and Assistant Director of Seed Certification, Tiruvarur, A. Mathialagan accompanied the director.
