The scouts of Ordnance Factory High School here, who have been selected for the Governor’s Rajya Puraskar Award 2013 were felicitated at a function held at the school premises recently.
B. P. Babu, General Manager, Ordnance Factory, Tiruchi (OFT) honoured the nine Scouts – P. Keerthivasan, G. Sathiskumar, M. Akash Kumar, T. Veerapandi, S. Sanmugavel, T. Nithish, K. P. S. Akilan, D. Ramesh and C. Bernad, who won the Rajya Puraskar Award 2013. He also honoured the scout’s master of the school B. Seraman.
P. Sarojini, principal of the school, said that the Scouts had to undergo various strenuous tests such as mapping, first aid, compass estimation and kit inspection. Rajya Puraskar was highest award in the Scout Movement and the school was proud that nine of its students had won this coveted award.
