The Science Express – Biodiversity exhibition train will be stationed at Tiruchi Junction from August 4 to 7.

The special train, equipped with innovative exhibits covering various topics, is a collaborative initiative of the Department of Science and Technology and the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests. The train has been creating awareness on unique biodiversity of India, climate change, and related issues among people.

Eight coaches of the train showcase the myriad biodiversity spread across the bio-geographical zones of India such as the Himalayas, the Gangetic plains, Western Ghats, and so on. One coach contains exhibits on climate change and another on safe, secure, and sustainable environment.

The train has a “kids zone” in another coach with fun-filled activities, games, and puzzles in Science, Mathematics, and Environment. A “Joy of Science” laboratory in which students could perform experiments and activities was put up in another coach in addition to a discussion centre-cum-training facility provided for orientation of teachers.

Entry is free and open for all and the exhibition would be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Prior to arriving in Tiruchi, the train will be stationed at Cuddalore Port Junction from July 31 to August 3. After Tiruchi, the train will move to Kudal Nagar, a Southern Railway release here said.
