Sathyabama University clinched the IOB Rolling Trophy in the inter-collegiate diamond jubilee volleyball tournament, which concluded here on Monday.

The three-day tournament, organised by the Jamal Mohamed College, was played on a league-cum-knockout basis. The teams were divided into two pools.

The top two from each pool – Jamal Mohamed College, Sathyabama University, D.B. Jain College, and Loyola College – advanced to the semi-finals.

Sathyabama University defeated Jamal Mohamed College in the final. Loyola College got the better of D.B. Jain College in the third-place playoff. Muthukumar (Loyola College) was adjudged the best attacker, Manju Raykar (Sathyabama University) as the best blocker, Sunil (D.B. Jain College) as the best setter, P. Elamaran (Jamal Mohamed College) as the best universal, and Rajesh (Jamal Mohamed College) as the best libero.

S. Narasimhan, Chief Regional Manager, Indian Overseas Bank, Tiruchi, gave away the prizes in the presence of A.K. Khaja Nazeemudeen, secretary and correspondent, K.A. Khaleel Ahamed, treasurer, S. Mohamed Salique, principal, and B.S. Sha-in-Sha, Director of Physical Education.
