The rank lists for admission to B. Tech programmes offered by SASTRA University were released on Saturday evening. Varsha Vivek and B. Venkatesh, both of Chennai, have secured the top ranks. Varsha Vivek with a normalised aggregate of 100 percentile from Bhavan’s Rajaji Vidyashram, Chennai, secured the first rank calculated based on the normalised Plus Two aggregate marks.
B. Venkatesh of P.S. Senior Secondary School, Chennai, with JEE (Main) score of 286, secured the first rank calculated based on JEE Main scores. Setting the application deadline at 6 p.m. on June 15, the university released the rank list at 9 p.m.
SASTRA becomes the first institution in the country to begin the admission process using JEE (Main) results. The detailed rank lists are available at www.sastra.edu. The counselling for admissions will be held between June 23 and 27, and counselling letters can be downloaded from the university website. A total of over 15,000 applications were received from students from Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, and so on for admission to over 1,600 seats, a release of the university issued here on Saturday evening said.
