Samathuvapuram to be inaugurated

The new Periyar memorial samathuvapuram in Araichi village panchayat constructed on an outlay of Rs. 2.51 crore will be inaugurated on July 10.

The State Finance Minister, K.Anbazhagan will inaugurate the samathuvapuram under the presidentship of the Deputy Chief Minister, M. K. Stalin. Welfare assistance under various government schemes will be distributed to the beneficiaries belonging to weaker sections. Revolving fund to the tune of Rs. 10 crore will be distributed to 1,000 women self help groups and house site pattas will be given to 1,000 persons. New government buildings constructed on an outlay of Rs. 16 crore will also be declared open on the occasion, according to an official press release issued here on Thursday.

The State Transport Minister, K. N. Nehru on Thursday visited the samathuvapuram and oversaw the works undertaken in connection with the function
