RPF personnel sensitised to child rights and protection

A sensitisation meeting on child rights and protection was organised for Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel at the RPF Training Centre here on Tuesday.

The participating RPF personnel were explained about child related legislations including the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2000 and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012.

Types of abuse

The types of abuses committed against children, the role of Child Welfare Committee and the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) were also explained by the resource persons from the DCPU that organised the programme. Field-level RPF personnel from the rank of constable to sub-inspector attended the programme which was inaugurated by the District Child Protection Officer R. Devika. The programme featured a separate session for the officials on the ways to manage stress.

Assistant Security Commissioner, RPF, Tiruchi A. Kalaiarasan and senior officers were present on the occasion.
