The cost norms of the Central Sector Scheme for Prevention of Alcoholism and Substance (Drugs) Abuse, implemented by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, has been revised and uploaded on the Ministry website (http://socialjustice.nic.in/pdf/sch-drug-1115.pdf). The scheme is implemented with the objective of creating awareness about the ill-effects of alcoholism and substance abuse and for providing community based services for identification, motivation, de-addiction, and rehabilitation of addicts. Non-governmental organisations which fulfil the eligible criteria can send proposals for financial assistance for the financial year 2015-16. The proposals can be sent to the Commissioner of Social Defence, No. 300, Purasaiwakkam High Road, Kellys, Chennai – 60 010, an official release said.
