Reintroduce old pension scheme: govt. staff union

A rally was taken out by the members of Tamil Nadu Government Employees Union (TNGEU) here on Sunday in support of their demands. The rally started from Saalai road and culminated at Tennur Uzhavar sandhai ground.

The demands include merging 50 per cent Dearness Allowance with basic pay, reintroduction of old pension scheme, and introduction of time scale of pay for contract and other similar categories of workers.

K.Balasubramanian, General Secretary, All India State Government Employees Federation, addressed a meeting at the end of the rally.

K.Suresh, president, Tiruchi district unit of AITUC, K.Pal Pandian, State president, M.Kaviyarasan, Tiruchi district president, and U.M.Selvaraj, general secretary of the union, took part in the rally.
