Rally sensitises people to eye donation

A rally to sensitise people on the importance of eye donation was taken out at the BHEL Township on Thursday.

The rally was part of the 26th National Eye Donation Fortnight celebration organised by K. Selvaraj, an employee of BHEL and eye donation motivator.

The rally, flagged off near the Human Resource Development Centre, went around various parts of the township.

More than 600 students carrying posters, placards and banners promoting eye donation participated. Students of Boiler Plant Boys Higher Secondary School, Boiler Plant Girls Higher Secondary School, RSK Higher Secondary School and BHEL Matriculation Higher Secondary took part.

P. Nainar, general manager, Human Resource, BHEL, Tiruchi, flagged off the rally. Speaking on the occasion Mr.Nainar urged students to educate the public and spread awareness of eye donation.

M. Palanivel, additional general manager, human resource, P. Manoharan, additional general manager, human resource, and other senior officials were present.
