The fame of King Rajaraja Chola I will continue to inspire generations across the world. His exploits speak volumes of his military prowess and strategic acumen, said speakers as they glorified the great Chola emperor on the occasion of his 1,032nd Sathaya Vizha that commenced here on Sunday.

District Collector A. Annadurai said that the fame of the Big Temple was aligned with that of its builder King Rajaraja Chola I.

Any tourist from India and abroad who visits Tamil Nadu was attracted to the Big Temple.

They admire its magnificent architecture and elegance. The temple was a marvel and has been attested by the UNESCO itself, he said.

The Collector noted that when Governor Banwarilal Purohit after assuming office paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Naredra Modi , he presented a memento and that was the icon of the Big Temple.

Though both the leaders may not have seen the monument in person, the fame of the Big Temple was enough to attract both of them, he said.

Palace Devasthanams Hereditary Trustee and Senior Prince Bhabaji Raje Bhonsle, Joint Commissioner, Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, Thennarasu, Sathaya Vizha Committee president Durai Thirugaam and others spoke.
