PT holds protest demanding one name

Cadre of Puthiya Tamizhagam staged a demonstration here on Wednesday demanding that people of Scheduled Caste called under different names such as Pallar, Kudumban, Kaaladiyar, Moopan and Devendrakulathan be called in one name of Devendrakula Velalar.

Led by the party leader K.Krishnasamy, the demonstrators urged the State government to issue a government order in this regard immediately. They also urged the State government to withdraw the special reservation within the SC community as it went against them. The demonstration was held near the Anna statue in Chinthamani.
