DMK cadre staged demonstrations in Tiruchirapalli as part of their State-wide stir
Responding to the party high command’s call, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) cadre staged demonstrations in Tiruchirapalli and elsewhere in the district on Tuesday condemning the AIADMK government for the unprecedented power cut across the State.
The demonstration near the Khadi Craft was led by the DMK district secretary K.N.Nehru in which former minister N.Selvaraj, district functionaries and a good number of cadre participated.
Raising slogans against the AIADMK government, the DMK functionaries demanded that uninterrupted power supply be provided to the people.
Demonstrations were also held at places including Tiruverumbur, Manapparai, Manikandam, Jeeyapuram, Vaiyampatti, Lalgudi, Kallakudi, Thuraiyur, Thuvarankurichi, and Manachanallur.
In Thanjavur district, demonstrations were held at 15 places. Ko.Si.Mani, former minister and senior leader of the party, led the agitation at Kumbakonam. Anbalagan, MLA, participated . In Thanjavur former minister S.N.M.Ubayathullah led the agitation.
Demonstrations were held at 13 centres in Tiruvarur district. In Tiruvarur town, the agitation was led by Poondi Kalaivanan, Tiruvarur district secretary of the party . U.Mathivanan, former minister, took part.
Hundreds of DMK cadre participated in the agitations held at 15 centres in the district. Former Union Minister S.Regupathi participated in the agitation in Annavasal and Periannan Arasu, district secretary of the party, participated in the agitation.
Demonstration were held in Karur town and 10 other centres in the district. Nanniyur Rajendran, in-charge of the district unit of the party, led the agitation in front of the taluk office in Karur town.
In Nagapattinam district over 2,245 cadre staged protest demonstrations across the district at 11 locations.
