A proposal to revamp the Shenbaga Thoppu reservoir at a cost of ₹9.95 crore has been sent to the State government, said Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) Minister Sevur S. Ramachandran
He inspected the reservoir constructed across the Kamandala that originates near Pattaraikkadu in Jawadu Hills on Friday.
Sluices not working
Mr. Ramachandran said there were complaints from public that the seven sluices of the reservoir were not working properly and they do not contain water.
“Hence, the Chief Minister asked me to inspect the place and give a proposal to revamp it. A proposal to repair the sluices and gates has been sent to the government. As soon as the proposal is cleared, work will be carried out to repair the sluices, he added. The Minister was accompanied by Collector Prashant M.Wadnere and MLAs Dusi K.Mohan and V.Panneerselvam at the inspection site.
