The preliminary round of the ‘Shaastra Junior Quiz,’ a national-level quiz organised as part of Shaastra, the annual technical festival of Indian Institute of Technology-Madras, will be held in the city on June 29.
Preliminary rounds of the quiz are being held in Chennai, Tiruchi, Madurai, and Coimbatore. The quiz will be mainly based on science and technology and general knowledge. The quiz aims at exposing students to the exciting world of technology and innovation.
The regional round of quiz will have two rounds. The first round will be a written exam and the second a quizzing round. The top two teams from the regional rounds will get a chance to participate at the national-level quiz to the held during Shaastra 2015 at IIT-Madras during January.
The top three teams from the regions will get certificates and winners of the national round will be awarded certificates and huge prize money, N.Dhinesh, organiser, Shaastra, said in a press release.
The quiz is open for students of standards IX to Plus Two. Each school can send any number of teams (of two members each) and there will be no registration fees. Registration of the teams will be on the spot.
The Tiruchi regional round will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at RSK Higher Secondary School on June 29.
