Potters stage protest

Potters belonging to the Tamil Nadu Earthenware Workers Sangam staged a protest fast near the Panagal Buildings here on Monday demanding an increased monsoon subsistence allowance of ₹5,000 a month, subsidy to establish earthenware manufacturing shops, special grant to unearth and utilize the clay from government lands and other sources.

The Earthenware Manufacturers Welfare Board must extend all benefits due to all the registered members of the board. Sangam district president S. Krishnan led the protest fast in which State president S.P. Sekar, district secretary P. Bharathidasan, treasurer M. Ganesan and others participated.
