Police thwart DK event

April 19, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:35 am IST - TIRUCHI:

The police on Saturday detained three Dravidar Kazhagam members for attempting to conduct a beef-eating programme without permission here on Saturday.

On information, the police rushed to the LPF office at Thiruverumbur, where the programme was scheduled to be held, and detained the organisers, Guna, Kandavel, and Puthiyavan, under section 151 of CrPC.

The police told the organisers that the programme could not be allowed as it might disturb the public order and hurt the sentiments of a community.

All of them were released in the evening.
