Pilgrims’ kin anxious

April 26, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:49 am IST - TIRUCHI:

Relatives of a group of 25 persons from Tiruchi which had undertaken a pilgrimage to Muktinath in Nepal are anxiously awaiting information from them.

The group had started their journey on April 20 . The pilgrims were from Tiruchi, Musiri and Namakkal.

As news of the powerful earthquake in Nepal spread, anxious relatives and friends of the pilgrims visited the private travel agency here that had organised the trip to know the whereabouts of the pilgrims. The mobile phones of the group members could not be reached.

S. Badri, a relative of Kulasekaran of Chinthamani, who is the organiser of the tour, said that it was learnt that mobile networks had crashed in Nepal. Moreover, if they were in Muktinath, it was not possible to speak to them over mobile due to poor network coverage.
