Demanding free house site pattas, people besieged taluk offices in the district on Tuesday necessitating revenue officials’ intervention.

Tamil Nadu Vivasayigal Sangam, affiliated to the Communist Party of India (Marxist), had given a call to stage a protest and to remain in front of the taluk offices till free house site pattas were issued.

Accordingly, people assembled in front of the taluk offices.

They dispersed after revenue officials held talks with them at the respective taluk offices and assured them to look into the demand.

The agitation was organised in Srirangam, Thuraiyur, Thottiyam, Mannachanallur, Tiruverumbur, Manapparai, Lalgudi, and Marungapuri.
