Patients with dengue symptoms test negative

An alarm of the city's first dengue case this season was put to rest when a woman and two children with suspected symptoms of the fever tested negative on Sunday.

A female patient from Manapparai was admitted to a private hospital in the city with symptoms of dengue.

Though preliminary test results were positive, the confirmatory test of samples proved negative, V.Veerapandian , Deputy Director, Public Health, told The Hindu .

Two children aged below 10 with suspected symptoms were admitted to the Annal Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital attached to the K.A.P.Viswanatham Medical College on Sunday.

With their tests results proving negative, they were moved to the paediatric ward, A.Karthikeyan, Dean, of the college said.
