Passengers demand better facilities at Thanjavur station

Members of Thanjavur-Tiruchi Train Passengers Association staged a demonstration at the railway station here on Friday demanding better facilities.

They demanded toilet and restroom facilities at the renovated platforms 1 and 2, 24-hour ticket counter at Mary's Corner entrance, additional seating facilities on platforms, and operation of Uzhavan Express, which is kept at the railway station for the whole day after its arrival from Chennai Egmore, on Thanjavur-Mayiladuthurai route.

Ayyanapuram K.Nadarajan, president of the association, led the agitation. Members of Thanjavur District Mootha Kudimakkal Peravai, Thanjavur Division Insurance Employees Association and Pensioners Association took part.
