Overhead water tank to come up at 23 villages

New overhead water tank will be constructed at 23 villages in ten village panchayats in Vaiyampatti panchayat union at an outlay of Rs.1.85 crore. The Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage (TWAD) Board has planned to construct overhead tanks to supply potable drinking water to Vaiyampatti, Amaiyapuram, Aniyappur, Kumaravadi, Mugavanur, Pudukottai, Thavalaveeranpatti, Nallampillai, Sekkanam, and Ayanreddiapatti.

The overhead water tanks will be of 10,000, 20,000, 30,000, and 60,000 litre capacity and have been sanctioned to the villages based on the local population and demand, sources said. The boomi pooja for all the proposed water tanks was conducted at the identified venues on the same day recently. Chandrasekar, MLA, Kalpana Sethu, chairperson, Vaiyampatti panchayat union, participated.
