Dharmarakshna Samithi that aims at propagating the glory of ancient temples in and around the district has been launched in Karur. The Samithi's inaugural function was organised at Lakshmi Nataraja Vidya Niketan (LNVN) here.

Correspondent of LNVN R. Balaji said it was the responsibility of everyone to protect the ancient places of worship in the district. “We should pass on the culture and tradition to future generations.”

State organiser P. Ramasamy said the organisation has been launched following the counsel of Swami Dayananda Saraswathi who wanted an organisation to identify temples of over 500 years.

“We have identified Sri Kalyana Pasupatheeswarar, Sri Kalyana Vikrutheeswarar at Venjamangudalur, Sri Kadambavaneswarar temple at Kulithalai and Sri Rathinagireeswarar temple at Ayyarmalai,” he said.
