NSS volunteers of Bharathidasan University felicitated

REACHING NEW HEIGHTS: Vice Chancellor V.M.Muthukumar with the NSS volunteers who trekkedto a height of 11,000 feet in the Himalayas.

Vice Chancellor V.M. Muthukumar has congratulated 10 NSS volunteers of Bharathidasan University who trekked 45 km and reached a height of 11,000 feet in the Himalayas.

The volunteers took part in a camp held from September 29 to October 8 at Manali, Himachal Pradesh, organised by the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. During the camp, the NSS volunteers were given intensive training in elementary skills of rock climbing, repelling, river crossing, trekking, camping, jungle craft, survival, leadership and white water rafting by the trainers of Atal Behari Vajpayee Institute of Mountaineering and allied Sports, Hatkoti, Karapathar, Himachal Pradesh.
