Skits promoting awareness of conservation of water were rendered by NSS volunteers of five units of Cauvery College to educate students and villagers at Pettavaithalai recently.

A skit on washing demonstrated how large quantity of water is being wasted for washing clothes and how water usage could be optimised. Another skit sought to convey the message that conserving water is a lifetime process and that polluting water bodies such as river and ponds must be prevented. A total of 200 student-volunteers took part in the programme and created awareness among villagers about the ill effects of water wastage that would lead to parched lands.
