Nine gravimetric feeders manufactured by the Hitek Group of Industries at Sidco Estate here for Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC)'s Koderma I Project in Jharkhand were flagged off on Wednesday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Executive Director, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Tiruchi A.V. Krishnan said BHEL was the first manufacturing company in the country to develop public-private partnership.

Outsourcing firms which manufactured small parts in the initial period had grown to fabricate independent products such as hangers, gravimetric feeders, oil skid assemblies and host of other important products, he said. Calling upon outsourcing firms to augment their capacity, he said they could form a cluster of industries while encouraging them to manufacture as much as six lakh tonnes per annum.

Noting that BHEL had an outstanding order booking position of Rs.1,48,000 crore, he called upon outsourcing firms to deliver products in sequential orders and on time.

He urged the subcontracting firms to improve their efficiency and scale of operations to deliver products on time to meet BHEL's commitment to supply 60,000 MW of power equipment in the coming three fiscals.

C.S. Ramachandran, General Manager, Commercial & Marketing, BHEL, Tiruchi handed over the documents to A. Rajasekaran, Deputy Chief Engineer, DVC and flagged off the first batch of three Gravimetric Feeders.
