Distribution of reflector jackets and dollars embedded with reflectors to the night school students marked the Children’s Day celebrations and Safety programme organised by the Tiruchi District Exnora near here recently. The night school students were from Maruthandakurichi and Ramanatha Nallur villages.

The reflector materials were given to the students as a safety measure as they have to take the Kuzhumani main road to reach their homes during night hours. The glow from the jackets and dollars during nights would enable vehicle drivers to notice the pedestrian movement on the road.

Distributing the reflector jackets and dollars to the students, the Commissioner of Police Karuna Sagar advised students to be safety conscious. Night School Coordinator R. Santhanam briefed about the activities of night school students. The Tiruchi District Exnora Secretary, C. Balasubramanian said the function was organised to instil safety consciousness among rural children. Office bearers of Tiruchi District Exnora, Youth and Students Exnora participated in the programme.
