Describing Mr. Nehru as ‘Tiruchi Theerar’, Mr.Karunanidhi spent the first 15 minutes of his speech lauding him for his hard work.
“All credit goes to K.N.Nehru who has set a benchmark for political meetings across the country,” said Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam chief M.Karunanidhi showering encomiums on the chairman of the reception committee of the 10th State conference of the party for his untiring two-month-long efforts in organising the event in a grand manner.
Mr.Karunanidhi described Mr. Nehru as an unparalleled organiser, who, despite suffering a terrible personal loss in the death of his younger brother K. N. Ramajayam, achieved a head-turning feat. Describing Mr. Nehru as ‘Tiruchi Theerar’, Mr.Karunanidhi spent the first 15 minutes of his speech lauding him for his hard work. Mr.Karunanidhi reminisced on the organising capabilities and commitment of Anbil Dharmalingam, one of the senior leaders of the party, and called Nehru his able successor.
The former minister was seen evidently moved at several places throughout Mr. Karunanidhi’s speech and was fighting to control his tears. In an acknowledging gesture, Mr. Nehru thanked his leader with folded hands.
Earlier in the day, Mr. Nehru broke down when Mr. Stalin commended him for his committed efforts overcoming the untimely demise of his brother.
