NABARD officials get familiar with market price forecast

E-resource division of the Agro Marketing Intelligence and Business Promotion Centre here is to market price forecasts and market advisories to about 22 lakh farmers throughout Tamil Nadu.

S. Selvam, Executive Director of the centre, said this to District Development Managers (DDMs) of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) from all districts who visited the centre on Saturday.

He explained the activities of other divisions namely Market Extension Division and Market Linkage Division.

Chandrasekar, Deputy Director (Agri Business), Tiruchi, explained to the participants about the functioning of the regulated markets, promotion of farmer producer companies, formation of Farmer Interest Groups, and shared his experience in facilitating marketing of cotton and onion by farmers of Thuraiyur and Thathaiyangarpettai and banana in Thiruchendurai.

Natarajan, General Manager, NABARD, Veerashankar, and Nagarajan, Deputy General Managers, were present.
