A group of Naam Tamizhar Katchi functionaries were arrested here on Friday after they raised slogans condemning the visit of Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa to the country.

Sources said a section of members of the Naam Tamizhar Katchi led by its district organiser Prabhu assembled in front of the general sales agent office of the Sri Lankan airline here and raised slogans against the Sri Lankan President without obtaining police permission. Those arrested were released in the evening. The Cantonment Police has registered a case.
