Even as a comprehensive security plan is being prepared ahead of the visit of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi to Tiruchi, a police team from Gujarat will arrive here to liaise with the city police on the security aspect.
The Gujarat police team is expected to land here on Monday and will have a meeting with the Commissioner of Police under whose direct supervision, a bandobust plan is being prepared.
Mr. Modi will take part in the BJP’s youth conference to be held here on September 26 at the railway ground at G corner where work on erecting the stage and seating arrangements is in full swing.
The city police are expected to communicate the route to be taken by the VVIP and the function venue to the Gujarat team.
On the eve of the conference, the city police will conduct an advance security liaison meeting and organise a complete security rehearsal from the airport to the function venue.
Deployment of police personnel at vital points will be done on September 25 evening with full bandobust on the day of the conference.
Police sources said Superintendents of Police of different districts and Deputy Inspector Generals of Police of various ranges form part of the security arrangements.
