Minister Tamilarasi inspects Adidravida hostels

A. Tamilarasi, Minister for Adidravida Welfare, conducted a surprise inspection at the hostels run by the department in various parts of the district on Monday.

The Minister paid a surprise visit to the Government Adidravida welfare boys hostels in Perambalur town and Anukkur and the Yesanai Adidravida welfare girls hostel in the morning. She verified the attendance, stock register, mark statements of the inmates, free uniforms distribution register etc. She also verified the stock position of the grocery items. The Minister tasted the food prepared in all the three hostels.

The Minister noticed shortage in the stock in Perambalur hostel. The Yesanai hostel was found to be not maintained in a hygienic manner. She directed the officials to initiate action against the wardens of both the hostels. Mrs. Tamilarasi also interacted with the inmates of the hostels.

Later at Krishnapuram village she inspected the works on the construction of a community hall on an outlay of Rs. 18 lakhs.

The Minister declared open an exhibition on the achievements of the Adidravida Welfare Department in the town.
