Marginal rise in success rate in Pudukottai district

There has been a marginal improvement of about three per cent in the overall pass percentage in the Plus Two in Pudukottai district this year.

Pass percentage 84

Of the total 14,334 students who appeared for the exams this year, 12,012 have passed, accounting for 83.80 per cent. During the previous year, the overall pass percentage in the district was 80.76 per cent.

The pass percentage was higher among girls in the district.

Of the 7,959 girls who took the exams in the district, 7,023 have passed, accounting for 88.24 per cent.

Among the 6,375 boys who sat for the exams, 4,989 have cleared the exams, accounting for 78.26 per cent.

The first three positions in the district were bagged by students of Mount Zion Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Pudukottai.

S.Bala Abinesh bagged the district top rank with a score of 1175 marks, followed by S.Radhakrishnan at the second spot with 1167 marks. A.Stephen secured the district third position with a tally of 1164 marks.

Centum results

Seven matriculation schools, one aided and one government school achieved cent per cent results in the district. Nine students from the district have secured centum in Accounting, seven in Commerce, five in Mathematics and one in Chemistry.
