Marathon on Sept. 25

The Tiruchi zone of the Confederation of Indian Industry in association with the Kauvery Hospital and Young Indians would organise the ‘Tiruchi Marathon’ for the second consecutive year for raising awareness on organ donation. The event would be on September 25.

The marathon would be held in three categories – a 21 kilometre half marathon; a 10-km run for men and women and five-km run and walk that would be open to all. The total prize money would be around Rs.3 lakhs to be divided among the top three winners of the first two categories. The 21 km half marathon would be held as a separate category for women, if there were more than 25 registrations, Mr. D. Senguttuvan, Convener, Healthcare Panel, CII- Tiruchi Zone, said in a press release.

Registrations can be done online at www.trichymarathon.com and offline at Kauvery Hospital, No: 6, Royal Road, Cantonment or at the CII office at GVR Complex, Lawson’s Road, Tiruchi. A registration fee of Rs.600 would have to be paid for the half-marathon; Rs.400 for 10-km run and Rs.200 for the five-km run and walk.
