Manapparai GH may get CT scan facility soon

C.Vijaya Basker, State Health Minister, made a surprise visit to the government headquarters hospital here on Sunday.

He inspected the 24-hour Comprehensive Emergency Obstetric and Neonatal Care (CEmONC) centre functioning in the hospital.

The facility has a full fledged Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

He also visited the casualty ward and the men’s wards.

The Minister enquired about the inpatient capacity and the average number of out patients treated at the hospital.

The government hospital handles 200 out patient cases every day and is equipped with 150-beds, according to hospital officials.

Mr.Vijaya Basker assured doctors on setting up a CT scan facility at the hospital.

The hospital is located in the Kanudayanpatti panchayat in Viralimalai and caters to patients from Pudukottai, Karur and Tiruchi districts. It is being readied for National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH) accreditation for which the final assessment will be made around December this year, according to sources.
