A charred body of a man who was murdered was found near an agricultural field at Kallamedu near Valanadu on Monday. The identity of the victim is yet to be established.
Police sources said the victim’s body bore multiple cut wounds on the face, neck, and shoulder with hands and legs tied. The sources said the culprits set afire the body and left the spot.
On receipt of information, police personnel went to the spot and conducted inquiries. The charred body was sent for a postmortem at Manapparai Government Hospital.
