Man dies at Srirangam temple

A 65-year-old man died at the Srirangam Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple here on Friday. Police identified the deceased as S.Vairavan of Chennai. Police sources said Vairavan swooned near the ‘Nazhikettan Vaasal’ inside the shrine when he had come to offer worship during the on-going Vaikunta Ekadasi festival. A doctor was called in to attend on Vairavan and he was later declared dead at the Srirangam Government Hospital. Parikara poojas were performed following the incident in the temple.
