Malindo Air, a Malaysian-based hybrid airline, operating a daily service on the Kuala Lumpur-Tiruchi-Kuala Lumpur sector; will introduce second frequency two-days a week on the sector from April 30
The Malaysian – Indonesian joint venture carrier, a member of the PT Lion Group, launched the daily service on the sector on January 2.
The second frequency, an evening service, will be operated on Wednesdays and Saturdays, as per the summer schedule of flights released by the Tiruchi Airport authorities here. The flight (MXD223/224) will arrive here from Kuala Lumpur at 11.05 p.m. and depart at 11.55 p.m.
At the time of the launch of its service, Chandran Rama Murthy, Chief Executive Officer, Malindo Air, had promised that the airline would increase the frequency of the flights on the sector to three flights a day by the end of 2014 and operate a second frequency, an evening service, by May.
The airline offers a ‘full service product’ at a low cost and its flights were being operated from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport and not the Low Cost Carrier Terminal. The airline operates a Boeing 737-900 ER aircraft with 180 seats.
Meanwhile, Air India Express which operates a daily service to Tiruchi-Dubai-Tiruchi from here will operate the service to Sharjah from May 2 to July 21.
From July 22, the service would be operated from Dubai.
