Liquor bottles seized from bus at Ponnagar

Hundreds of liquor bottles worth Rs.50,000 were seized by a team of the Prohibition Enforcement Wing from a bus parked at Ponnagar in the city on Monday.

Police sources said Vinayagamoorthy and Mahadeven, both belonging to Musiri, had smuggled 390 liquor bottles from Bangalore by concealing it beneath paint tins in six barrels.

Confession

The vehicle was also seized. The arrested duo had reportedly confessed to have procured the liquor bottles for Rs. 60 each from Bangalore, and that they intended to sell each liquor bottle for over Rs. 150.
