The Department of Public Libraries has planned various events to promote library movement in connection with the 44 th National Library Week celebrations. The District Central Library and the Readers Circles will join in the celebrations.

The week will commence on November 14 with inter-school quiz competition for the schools in the city limits at the E. R. Higher Secondary School. A pattimandram will be held on the next day at Cauvery College for women. M. Selvaraj will preside over the poets' symposium at the District Central Library on November 16. Competitions including short story writing, composing of poems will be held for students at 10 a.m. on November 17 and the venue is the Central library hall.

Those willing to take part in the short story writing and poem composing competition could register their name in advance at the Central Library, a press release of the District Library Officer, issued here on Saturday said.
