The District Legal Services Authority has opened a legal services clinic at the Special Prison for Women here to provide free legal assistance to the jail inmates.

The clinic will function on Tuesdays and Fridays. A panel of advocates will visit the clinic and receive the applications from the inmates pertaining to legal assistance. Principal District Judge S. Kumaraguru opened the clinic on Monday and presided over the legal aid-cum-legal literacy camp.
