District Collector K.S. Palanisamy has appealed to electors to hand over photocopies of elector photo identity cards (EPIC) and Aadhaar cards to booth-level officers engaged in collecting the details.
In a press release, Mr. Palanisamy said that booth-level officers were engaged in collecting the EPIC, Aadhaar and mobile phone numbers and e-mail addresses of electors in a door-to-door exercise from March 25 as part of the Election Commission of India’s National Electoral Roll Purification and Authentication Programme (NERPAP).
Voters having more than one entry in the electoral rolls should voluntarily submit Form 7 for deletion. They can submit Form 8 for corrections along with supporting documents.
Electors can submit new legible photograph in Form 8 for replacement of photos already registered.
Electors can also voluntarily register their Aadhaar numbers and EPIC numbers of Election Commission’s national voters service portal (NVSP) or send text messages to 51969 in the following format: ECILINKEPIC NumberAadhaar number.
Alternatively, they can send a mail to tnvoteraadhaar@gmail.com or using the mobile phone app or by making a call to 1950, Mr. Palanisamy said in a release.
