Karur worker bitten by rabid dog dies at GH

Lodged in a separate room he grew violent

A rabies afflicted worker hailing from West Bengal who created anxious moments after he reportedly bit a patient at the Government Hospital here died on Thursday. Police sources said A.Arafath (28) who worked in a mosquito net manufacturing unit at Karur was bitten by a dog a few months ago.

As his health condition deteriorated, he was admitted to the Government Hospital here on Wednesday.

The sources said Arafath who was lodged in a separate room apparently grew violent and came out and bit a patient by name K.Arjunan of Pudukottai district at the hospital on Wednesday.

He was later put in another separate room where he died, hospital sources said.
