An impressive march and cultural programmes by students marked Puducherry Liberation Day at Karaikal on Wednesday.
Puducherry Agriculture Minister R. Kamalakannan hoisted the national flag and inspected the guard of honour presented by police personnel and school students.
Mr. Kamalakannan later honoured freedom fighters in the presence of District Collector R. Kesavan and Senior Superintendent of Police V.J. Chandiran and other officials.
The Minister also presented awards to the student team from SRVC School in recognition of their performance in march past and cultural programmes.
