Janata Dal (S) demands imposition of prohibition in TN

The Janata Dal (Secular) has urged the State government to implement total prohibition in Tamil Nadu. A resolution to this effect was adopted at the party’s urban district functionaries meeting held here recently. The party said sale of liquor had affected families of those consuming alcohol and had been the cause for various crimes that were increasing by the day. Another resolution urged the Centre to take steps to declare Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa a war criminal for the human rights violations against Tamils. The meeting was presided over by the party’s urban district president V.K. Daniel, a release here said.
