IIM-Tiruchi records 100 % placement

For PG programme in management batch of 2015-17

The Indian Institute of Management, Tiruchi, has successfully completed final placement for the Post Graduate programme in Management batch of 2015-17 with the highest domestic CTC (cost to company) of ₹33 lakh a year.

It is an increase of 39 % over the previous year’s CTC of ₹ 23.81 lakhs. All the 104 students, registered for final placements, have been placed. Diverse roles in the domains of sales and marketing, finance, general management, strategy and operations, consulting and analytics, and human resources were offered to the candidates. Roles like executive assistant to chairman and managing director, product management and capital risk management specialists were the highlights of this year’s placement process.

Recruiters from various sectors such as automotive, manufacturing, infrastructure, telecommunications, consulting and analytics, e-commerce, media, consumer durables and retail, health care and IT/ITES participated in the final placement process.

According to a press release, 25 students have bagged pre-placement offers or interviews. The average CTC of the top 10 % of the batch was ₹ 21.55 lakh and top 25 % of the batch was ₹17.93 lakh. The average CTC of top 50 % of the batch was ₹ 16.02 lakh. The median CTC offered to the batch witnessed an increase of more than ₹1 lakh over last year and stood at ₹13.28 lakhs.

On the successful completion of the placements, Prafulla Agnihotri, Director, IIM-T, said that it showed that most of the leading companies had taken note of progress of the institute and have been visiting the campus for summer and final placements. Companies such as Microsoft had come for placements. JP Morgan Chase, Shell and Publicis. Sapient had come for the first time this year.

Abhishek Totawar, Placement Chairperson, said that many companies had visited the campus despite the tough recruitment market this year. It showed the confidence that they had reposed on IIM-T.
