A general review of the law and order and crime cases besides the performance of investigators were reviewed by the Inspector General of Police, Central Zone M. Ramasubramani during a top-level meeting held here on Friday.
Superintendents of Police of eight districts falling under the Central Zone took part in the nearly three-hour long meeting that was held at the District Police Office here.
The status of pending law and order and property crime cases was reviewed district-wise at the meeting – the last one to be convened in the current year.
Sources said the overall performance of each district was examined in respect of law and order and property crime cases including grave offences. The detection and recovery rate of stolen property, the number of pending cases, non-bailable warrants executed and the figures of pending ones besides the pending arrests of key anti-social elements were examined. The good work done by the investigators in achieving breakthrough in crime cases came in for appreciation. The investigators were asked to take necessary steps to expedite probe in pending cases so as to achieve breakthrough and early filing of charge-sheet in the detected cases.
The sources said there was good improvement in the number of those detained under the Goondas Act in the Central Zone.
