The development works are being undertaken at a cost of Rs.20 crore.
Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR & CE) Minister M.S.M. Anandan on Friday inspected the developmental works being carried out near the Arulmigu Mariamman Temple at Samayapuram for the benefit of devotees visiting the shrine.
The works are currently underway at a cost of Rs.20 crore.
This includes construction of a new lodging house at a cost of Rs.6.2 crore; a three-storey tonsuring centre and construction of ‘prahara mandapams’ around the temple.
The Minister informed that instructions had been given to complete the developmental works before March.
The Commissioner, HR & CE department P. Dhanapal, Samayapuram temple Joint Commissioner G. Thennarasu and Joint Commissioner, HR & CE Tiruchi region Ilamparithi accompanied the Minister, an official press release here said.
