A housemaid, P.Vanaja (48) of Jeeva Street in Ponmalaipatti, was killed after a portion of a roof of a house at Thiru.Vi.Ka.Street in Ponmalaipatti, where was working, collapsed on Saturday.
According to police, Vanaja was working at the house of Kandan Mani when a portion of the roof collapsed over her. Vanaja sustained grievous injuries and was rushed to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Government Hospital in the city where she died.
Police are conducting investigations.
