Niranjan Mardi, Secretary, Highways and Minor Ports, inspected the various highway project works being carried out in Tiruchi and Pudukottai districts on Thursday. He also inspected the railway overbridges and bypass road works being executed by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in these districts.
Flyover
Mr.Mardi inspected the works on the construction of flyover on the Cauvery thenkarai road in the city on an outlay of Rs.28.50crore, laying of bypass road branching from Thuvakudi on the NH 67, Keeranur bypass, road overbridges at Crawford (Rs.31.43 crore), Samuthiram in Manapparai (Rs.20.80crore) and Settiyapatti (Rs.18.4 crore).
He gave directions to officials to speed up all the ongoing works.
Jayashree Muralidharan, Collector, Neelamegam, Chief Engineer, Highways, Ganesan, chief engineer (projects), and other officials accompanied the secretary.
